On that same day, Lu Yifeng decided to drop Xia Meilin and Little Melon in the Xia family manor.
"When will you be back, dada?" Little Melon asked as he looked up at him.
"I'll be back by next week." He patted his head. "Take care of your mother, okay?"
Little Melon nodded before he hugged his leg. "I'm going to miss dada."
"I will miss you too." Lu Yifeng turned to Xia Meilin and stared at her for a while. "I'll call you every day."
Xia Meilin leaned and gave him a hug. "You better should."
Lu Yifeng was happy to see that his family was going back to normal, especially with Xia Meilin. She started opening up to him and this meant a lot to him. He kissed her forehead, "I should go."
She pulled away and held Little Melon's hand. "Always take care, okay?"
"Mm." He nodded with a smile on his lips.
"Don't worry about your wife and son, they're in good hands." Xia Jiamu said with a gentle smile.
"See you later, dada." Little Melon waved at him.
After Lu Yifeng left, Xia Meilin and Little Melon entered the house with the Xia elders.
"I'll help you unpack, dear." Ji Ruo smiled at her.
They headed to Xia Meilin's old room and Ji Ruo helped her granddaughter unpack the things. Meanwhile, Xia Jiamu invited Little Melon to play chess with him.
"Meilin."
Xia Meilin turned to her grandmother. "Yes, grandma?"
"How's Lu Yifeng as a husband and father?" Ji Ruo could help but ask. This was the only time they were able to have a heart to heart talk. They weren't able to talk properly ever since Xia Meilin left the Xia manor.
Xia Meilin was a bit surprised when Ji Ruo asked her that question. Seeing how Xia Meilin reacted, Ji Ruo continued, "I just want to make sure that your grandpa and my decision for allowing you to marry him is correct."
"Oh." Xia Meilin sat on the side of her bed. "What can you say about us base from your observation, grandma?"
Ji Ruo chuckled, "I think you and your son are happy right now."
